Mike Shipley Oct 7 1956-July 22 2013 R.I.P. Nominated for eight Grammys, Mike won two for his work with Alison Krauss’ Paper Airplane, and a third Grammy for Faith Hill’s Breathe. His client list is too long to list in its entirety. Besides those already mentioned, it includes these notables: Keith Urban, AC/DC, Joni Mitchell, The Cars, Meat Loaf, Mr. Mister, Winger, The Clash, Van Halen, The Corrs, Kim Carnes, Kelly Clarkson, Blondie, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Foreigner, Devo, Cheap Trick, Enrique Iglesias, Maroon 5, Barenaked Ladies, Nickelback, Michael Bolton, Thomas Dolby, Prefab Sprout, Jefferson Airplane, Green Day, The Black Crowes, Papa Roach, Shawn Colvin, John Waite and My Chemical Romance. He also worked on movie soundtracks by Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer and others.

I will miss my mate!” –Bruce Gowdy Bruce Gowdy was a founding member of World Trade with Billy Sherwood and Guy Allison. He later formed Unruly Child with Allison. He was also a member of Stone Fury and has worked with Mercedes. He also produced Glenn Hughes’ From Now On… album from 1994. He toured with the Japanese rock star Eikichi Yazawa for over a decade.
Nathan Watts grew up listening to the Funk Brothers as well as other musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple, Rare Earth, Mahogany Rush, and Steppenwolf. In terms of his three main influences as a bassist, Watts lists James Jamerson, Chuck Rainey and Joseph “Lucky” Scott, bassist of Curtis Mayfield.
Technically, his style is characterized by the use of three fingers of the right hand, the strong attack that prints the notes, as well as the frequent use of techniques of palm mute, hammer on, trills and slides. The musician has developed an important career along with Stevie Wonder, with whom he has recorded some songs that would become classics for lovers: “I Wish”, “As”, “I Ain’t Gonna Stand for It” and “Do I Do” are among Watts top favorite bass lines. More than 36 years in the service of Stevie Wonder – along with being the musical director of the band for 12 years – he earned in 2010 the International Bassist Award from the Winter NAMM Show, an award that recognizes the achievements of the musician throughout his career.
Jamie “Jampottt” Donnelly is a 23 year old Producer, Engineer and Multi-instrumentalist from the North East of England. Graduating from Middlesbrough College’s BSc (Hons) Music Technology programme with a First Class Degree, Jamie has gone on to work with artists local, national and international. Jamie continues to work freelance, as well as being a Technician and Lecturer for the BSc (Hons) Music Technology degree at Middlesbrough College. On why this project is so close to his heart, Jamie said “Mike Shipley is the reason I got into this crazy game in the first place, and during his time with us, inspired and pushed a kid hard via email. To be able to let his work live on is an honour.”
